On Nov. 8, 2016, Donald Trump shattered an important glass ceiling by becoming the first WWE Hall of Fame member to be elected president of the United States.
Trump was inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame in 2013, after hosting multiple WrestleMania events at Trump properties, and defeating WWE chairman Vince McMahon in the Battle of the Billionaires at WrestleMania 23.
“This is a major honor,” Trump said at his hall of fame induction ceremony. “I consider this to be my greatest honor of all.”
The WWE may have considerable influence in a Trump administration. The president-elect recently nominated Vince’s wife Linda McMahon to head the Small Business Administration.
