In an addition to being sworn in by U.S. Supreme Court Chief Justice John Roberts, Donald Trump’s presidency became official when he successfully commandeered the @POTUS Twitter account from Barack Obama.

Determined to “resist” President Trump at every turn, Hillary Clinton allies, celebs and other Democrats have seized on a bold new strategy: urging people to unfollow Trump on Twitter.

Signal Boost, a newsletter launched by former Clinton campaign aide Jess McIntosh and Zerlina Maxwell, has launched a #MuteMonday hashtag campaign urging Twitter users to unfollow both of Trump’s accounts and follow Democratic politicians and left-wing activists instead.

“Reminder! If you are following @POTUS you are now following Trump,” former Clinton communications aide Jennifer Palmieri wrote on Twitter. “Dump him and follow folks doing good like @UNITEDWEDREAM .”

Palmieri was writing in response to a tweet from celeb Jamie Lee Curtis, who was promoting the campaign on her own account. Curtis urged her followers to unfollow Trump and follow Sen. Cory Booker instead.

Zak Petkanas, former rapid response director for Clinton urged Democrats to “resist” and “fight back” by dumping Trump and following Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer.

Other celebs latched onto the campaign. Food celebrity Padma Lakshmi told her followers to celebrate #MuteMonday by unfollowing Trump and following “a cause/person working toward progress we all still believe in,” such as Planned Parenthood.

The @POTUS account currently has 14.2 million followers, significantly less than the 21.6 million people following Trump’s personal account, @realDonaldTrump.
