Report: Donald Trump’s Ex Marla Maples Can’t Afford a Hairstylist for the Inauguration

Donald Trump’s ex-wife Marla Maples, mother of Tiffany Trump, reportedly tried to get complementary hairstyling services on Inauguration Day in exchange for “exposure.”

D.C.-based hairstylist Tricia Kelly told the Washington Post she was “stunned” by Maples’ offer. “I told them . . . I work for a fee, not for free.” According to Kelly, she was contacted by client about providing services for Maples and Tiffany Trump for the Inauguration Day event on January 20. A squabble over the fee (several hundred dollars worth) ensued.

At one point, an intermediary suggested that Kelly do the hairstyling free of charge. In exchange, Maples would advertise her services on social media. Kelly told the Post she rarely desires exposure for her work because her clients include prominent Democrats as well as Republicans and she doesn’t want to ruffle any partisan feathers.

“There are people who make far less than they do who pay full price,” Kelly said of Maples and Tiffany, the youngest Trump daughter. “People on staff — the incoming White House and the outgoing one — pay full price. It seemed like they were trying to see how much they could get for free based on their names.”

After the Washington Post reached to a PR representative for comment from Maples (she declined), Kelly reportedly received an angry message from the client who had originally put her in touch with the former Trump bride. “You are messing with the president of the United States,” the message read.

The client also suggested that Maples is concerned about her financial situation now that Tiffany has graduated from college and her child-support payments from Trump are scheduled to end. “She is used to a certain lifestyle and you don’t understand that,” the client wrote.
