A general election showdown with Hillary Clinton awaits, assuming the former secretary of state is not indicted for mishandling state secrets on her secret home-brew email server.

Speaking of state secrets: As the presumptive Republican nominee, Donald Trump is on schedule to receive classified briefings from the U.S. intelligence community. The briefings are a courtesy extended to presidential contenders to ensure they will be up to date on national security issues upon taking office.
Later this year, Trump will begin receiving regular national security / intel briefings. After the convention GSA will sign transition MOU

Mitt Romney, for example, began receiving the intelligence briefings in September 2012, after formally accepting the GOP nomination at the party convention in August.
But Mitt Romney is a serious person with moral standards. Trump on the other hand, is not. He is a serial fabulist who gets his foreign policy advice from “the shows,” and routinely peddles absurd conspiracy theories that have no basis in reality. For example, Trump recently suggested that Ted Cruz’s father may have had a role in the assassination of John F. Kennedy.
