Donald Trump’s upset of Hillary Clinton in the 2016 presidential election came as a shock to many. Most pundits expected to see Hillary make “Her-story” and shatter glass ceilings to become America’s first female president. It didn’t turn out that way.

But Trump’s victory doesn’t mean this wasn’t an historic election. Trump will be 70 years (and 220 days) old upon taking office, which mean will be the oldest person sworn in as president in American history. Current record holder Ronald Reagan was just shy of his 70th birthday when he took office in 1981.
Hillary Clinton, 69, would have fallen just short of Reagan’s age record had she won. But she lost, again, bringing her career record in presidential campaign to 0-2.
Hillary will not become the first female president in American history, but at least one glass ceiling was shattered this week. Trump’s campaign manager, Kellyanne Conway, is now the first woman to manage a successful presidential campaign.
Trump is also on track to become the first president in American history who with no prior experience in government or military service. Additionally, there is no record of any other U.S. president having used the word “schlonged” in public. Trump has used the word, and bigly. The haters are going to hate, but this election really was historic.
