It’s really happening, folks. Donald Trump has officially won enough delegates (1,237) to clinch the Republican nomination, according to the Associated Press.

The result was a foregone conclusion ever since Trump’s last remaining rivals, Ted Cruz and John Kasich, suspended their campaigns earlier this month. But it’s still difficult for some to fathom that Trump will be the GOP nominee, an outcome almost every “expert” said would never happen.

Trump will presumably face off against Hillary Clinton in the 2016 general election, assuming she can (finally) beat back a pesky challenge from Bernie Sanders, a 74-year-old socialist. Clinton is also under FBI investigation for potentially mishandling classified information, and could face a federal indictment.
