Philadelphia — Debbie Wasserman Schultz faced a brutal reception from angry Florida delegates at a breakfast meeting this morning, all the more bitter given that the audience came from the outgoing chairwoman’s home state.

The outgoing Democratic National Committee chairman emphatically continued speaking amid chants of “shame,” “you rigged the election,” and other jeers. Others held signs saying, “Thanks for the ‘Help,’ Debbie.”

In her speech this morning, Wasserman Shultz emphasized party unity, saying: “We know the voices in this room that are standing up and being disruptive, that’s not the Florida we know. The Florida we know is united, the Florida we know will continue to create jobs.”

Her Floridian foes weren’t buying it, continuing their booing.

Many were Sanders supporters, whose claims that the system is rigged have been bolstered by the leaked DNC correspondence published by Wikileaks. Many of the emails suggested the DNC had strategized to boost Clinton and undermine Sanders.

The Monday morning event was one of the few appearances Wasserman Shultz will make at the convention. One top Democrat described her as “quarantined” to CNN.

Amid the Wikileaks fallout, Wasserman Schultz cancelled her scheduled address to the DNC credentialing committee, though as of right now, she still plans to speak to the hall of delegates later this afternoon, risking similar heckling.

But her limited scheduled appearances could be cancelled, especially if Wasserman Schultz is deemed too much of a liability.
