It’s a good old fashion CPAC mystery.
At the hugely influential conservative conference Friday, an unknown person handed out Russian flags with “TRUMP” written on them to attendees who waved them during Trump’s speech.
Reporter Peter Hamby noticed that CPAC staffers soon scrambled to confiscate the flags in an effort to avert a PR disaster.

According to Mediaite, the flags were handed out by a man in a suit who asked unwitting attendees if they would like a “pro-Trump flag.”
The identity of this well-dressed troll mastermind has yet to be determined, but there are a few clues on social media. Journalist Sarah Posner said she spotted a man wearing a “Make Russia Great Again” shirt.
Another journalist saw a larger Russian Trump flag at the event.
