Coming Soon to Stores Near You: Hillary Clinton-Inspired ‘Lady Power Jackets’

She may be best known as a “pantsuit aficionado”—she even lists it as an affectionate qualifier on her Twitter profile—but Hillary Clinton’s high-priced jacket collection is having its biggest style impact yet.

According to everyone from the Washington Post to Vogue, the “lady power jacket” is having a fashion moment, and we can all thank Clinton’s shapeless foray into designer work wear. The boxy frock-coats normally seen on the Democratic presidential candidate will be all over fast-fashion outlets for the fall.

Power suits began to creep on to Fashion Week runways in 2015, around the same time that Clinton was mulling her presidential campaign, with Gucci, Ralph Lauren and Bally all releasing their version of Clinton’s precious outfit. By the time she was officially “in,” double-breasted suit jackets and flowing pantsuits were poised to take over

Indeed, professional wear (including Clinton-inspired pantsuits and power jackets) is among the top trends for this fall, according to Stylecaster, an authority on runway fashion trends. By October, expect every hipster you see to be dressing like a septuagenarian Secretary of State.

Now, it is estimated that Clinton has spent close to $300,000 on a campaign wardrobe—and custom tailored suit jackets, like the ones Clinton, Sen. Elizabeth Warren and Fed Chair Janet Yellen wear, can run into the thousands.

But for a mere $49.99 you can claim a copy of Clinton’s collarless tweed blazer in pastel pink at H&M, but you’ll have to move fast. All but the largest size is sold out.

A gray-patterned version, without Clinton’s signature front pockets, is on sale for $19.99.

Spanish retailer Zara has a similar black crepe jacket you can pick up for $99.90 and, bonus, it can be paired with crepe pants for that perfect presidential pantsuit.

If those options are still breaking your bank, even Forever 21, where Tweens go to grab crop tops and novelty tees and college students suit up for summer festivals, has a version of the Clinton coat for a mere $40.

Theirs even has the signature pockets.

Versions of the coat also crop up on hip retailer websites from ASOS to Topshop (which carries a very special pink leather version)—and all accompany entire collections of presidential campaign wear. (They often include, yes, pantsuits.)

The trend, of course, fits in with a larger fashion theme that’s been playing out: 1990s nostalgia. And what better celebrates that decade than the return of the Clintons?
