After months of campaigning, five candidates remain in the race to succeed Barack Obama as president of the United States.
Speaking of Obama, remember the time he refused to wear an American flag pin in 2008? That was weird, because wearing a flag pin is one of the easiest ways to publicly signal patriotism on the campaign trail.

Unfortunately, the mainstream media has failed to thoroughly assess the size of the 2016 candidates’ flag pins to determine how patriotic they are.
Until now.

It’s kind of hard to tell from this photo. However, thanks to technology, we can get a much better look so we can determine who loves America the most.

ANALYSIS
Donald Trump: Extra points for the wavy action he’s got going on, but it’s pretty disappointing given the Donald’s professed affinity for big things. It would probably look even smaller if it weren’t so close to his unusually diminutive hands.
Ted Cruz: Gold and shiny is more of Trump’s thing, right? Cruz is a skilled panderer, so it’s pretty surprising that he didn’t opt for an upgrade, size-wise. On the bright side, he appears to have the best national anthem posture.
John Kasich (winner): It’s a classic, and clearly the biggest of the bunch. Kasich wears a flag pin like he eats: boldly, and without shame. He loves America the most, apparently.
Let’s see how the Democrats compare.

Whoa, what’s going on there? Let’s try the enhanced version.

Hillary Clinton: n/a
Bernie Sanders: He’s a socialist. What did you expect?
There are no winners here. Hillary may be taking the whole “embracing Obama” thing a bit far by copying his flag pin style. But who knows? He won, didn’t he?
