Italian fashion designer Angela Missoni got all political this weekend by ending her Fall 2017 with models clad in pussyhats, the pink symbols of female solidarity created ahead of this year’s Women March.

Models including Gigi Hadid, Jamie Bochert and Romee Stridj walked down the runway in Italy’s fashion capital, Milan, on Saturday wearing the distinctively pointy rose hats. Missoni’s take on the hand-knitted piece featured the brand’s signature pattern—multicolored zig-zags and stripes.

The pink Pussyhats were first spotted at the Women’s March on Washington and other sister marches around the world, where protesters proudly wore them as a sign of feminine solidarity and a rebuke to Trump’s infamous “grab them by the pussy” comment.

When the designer came out to walk with her models during the final wave, she told her audience of fashionistas that “there is a bond between us that will keep us strong and safe; the bond that unites all those who respect human rights”.

“Let’s show the world that the fashion community is united and fearless,” she said, before urging the stylish guests to wear the hats that had been left on their seats.

Missoni is not the only designer who took advantage of the exposure and glitz offered by fashion week to make political statements this season.

During New York Fashion week earlier this month, many creative directors were spotted sporting  pink Planned Parenthood pins during their finale wave.
