A man has beaten a London Underground train in a race.
The fitness freak got off the District Line train at Mansion House station in London’s financial district and ran east through a series of back streets to the next stop – Canon Street – with just enough time to spare to leap onto the same carriage of the same train before it continued on its way.
This is completely pointless and utterly brilliant. Do watch. pic.twitter.com/ZIAxsS0wei

The feat – including exiting one station and entering the next via automatic gates – took less than 100 seconds.
Shattered, the speed demon then fell on the train’s floor to catch his breath while amazed passengers and friends – one of whom, like the runner, recorded the event – gave him a round of applause.
Utterly pointless, maybe, but impressive nonetheless.
