It usually involves teenagers doing something pointless, probably dangerous, and at best vaguely amusing for about six seconds (at least, that’s how long a Vine video is).

So in the spirit of fearing for the fate of future generations, we present you with this gem: the #FireSprayChallenge.

To take part, all you need is a highly flammable aerosol can and a lighter.

Instagram has come alight with users posting videos of themselves using cans of air freshener, deodorant and hair spray to … well … make fire more fiery.

Kindly observe this breathtaking masterpiece of cinematography:

The video, poignantly captioned “Oh hell nah”, has received more than 1310 likes, hundreds of comments, and more crying-with-laughter emojis than we dare count.

More than 4000 users have posted similar videos. Goodie.

Here’s a quick look back on some of the other Hashtag Challenge/I Don’t Want To Live On This Planet Anymore games.

1. The Condom Challenge

The challenger sits still while someone drops a condom filled with water down onto their head. The idea is for the condom to wrap around your head completely, making your face look like a giant, fleshy fishbowl. Hot.

2. Planking

Now this actually started out kind of fun — people lying flat on their stomachs, facedown, in obscure locations. But when the stakes got higher and higher, so too did the heights from which people planked. The challenge claimed its first Australian victim in 2011, when a 20-year-old from Brisbane fell to his death after planking across a row of high-rise flats.

3. The Kylie Jenner Lip Challenge

Want to look like your lips have been stung by a million bees? This trend was about getting lips just like Kylie Jenner’s. How do they plump their lips, you ask? Well, teens can be creative. They filmed themselves sucking on shot glasses and then posting the swollen results online.

On the plus side, you no longer have to worry about climate change. At this rate, the human race will wipe itself out.
