Authorities say 44-year-old Matthew Stager was let out of prison on Thursday from a correctional facility in Petersburg Virginia. He was supposed to check into the halfway house on the same day but never turned up.
According to US Marshals he was convicted in 1999 for indecent liberties with a minor in North Carolina, which forced him to register on the sex offender registry.
Stager is described as Hispanic, 145 lbs, 5’8″ with blonde hair, multiple tattoos and a history of drug abuse and mental illness.
The U.S. Marshals are asking for information on Stager’s whereabouts and ask anyone to contact them at 1-877-926-8332.
