Donald Trump attacked Arnold Schwarzenegger for his Celebrity Apprentice ratings. Now, the Terminator is having some fun with the president’s low approval numbers.
The actor and former California governor was responding to the latest Gallup poll, which has his approval rating dropping to 37 percent, while 58 percent of Americans disapprove of his performance so far. Trump’s approval rating hovered in the mid-to-low 40s in the weeks following the beginning of his presidency.
“Oh, Donald, the ratings are in, and you got swamped,” the former California governor said in a video he posted online. “Wow. Now you’re in the 30s?”
“But what do you expect?” Schwarzenegger added. “I mean when you take away after-school programs for children and Meals on Wheels for the poor people, that’s not what you call ‘making America great again.’ Come on!”
He invited the commander in chief to visit Hart Middle School in Washington, D.C., to see the work his After-School All-Stars organization is doing. “I’ll take you there, so you can see the fantastic work that they’re doing for these children,” Schwarzenegger added.
The Terminator’s call comes after Trump said Schwarzenegger got “swamped” compared to show’s ratings when he was its host.
Trump said Celebrity Apprentice has been a “total disaster” since the Austrian-born took over. Trump also used the National Prayer Breakfast to suggest that we pray for a rise in the show’s ratings.
Schwarzenegger fired back, suggesting he and Trump should switch jobs “so people can finally sleep comfortably again.”
