The head of a private school in Britain has shocked parents after dressing up as BDSM-addicted Christian Grey from Fifty Shades of Grey on World Book Day. The school has students as young as two.

Mike Burgess, the head of £18,000 (roughly $22,000) a year St. John’s International School in Sidmouth, Devon, marked the literary event by dressing up as a character from adult book Fifty Shades of Grey, The Sun reported.
He expressed his disappointment to outraged parents when the school children—some of whom are as young as two—didn’t recognize the character “despite the sharp suit and contemptuous arrogance”.
The headmaster also added in the newsletter, saying “Perhaps no one noticed any difference,” before signing off as “Christian Grey”.
One outraged parent questioned Burgess’ sanity and criticized the costume pick: “Has the headmaster gone mad? Heads of schools are supposed to be moral guardians and role models.
“The only behaviour being modelled here is sadistic and sexually deviant. Christian Grey is not a literary hero. A lot of the parents are unimpressed.”
World Book Day is an annual celebration of literature and authors and is marked in 100 across the world. Most schools in Britian celebrate the day by allowing school children and staff to dress up their literary heroes.
According to the school’s Facebook page, most children at Burgess were dressed up as Mr. Bump, Spiderman or Where’s Wally.
A spokesperson told The Mail Online that the school “has been made aware that an alleged complaint has been made to the media regarding an article recently published by the school.”
“We would like to stress that no complaint, from any parents or otherwise, has been received by either School itself or by any of its Directors,” the spokesperson added.
