A North Carolina boy was brought to tears by a town Santa who told him to “lay off” the burgers and fries, according to Asheville TV station WLOS. The Santa has since resigned from his esteemed position in Forest City.

The 9-year-old boy sat on Santa’s lap to ask him for an iPod Touch and a drone, but instead received wait loss advice.
“When he got done, he said, ‘Lay off the hamburgers and french fries,'” the kid told WLOS. “And that really just disrespected me, and I felt awful.”

The Santa was supposed to appear in the town for the next two Fridays but has been let go.
