The San Diego Chargers have been a disappointment for most of the last couple decades—typically tanking early during their postseason runs— but the news that the team is relocating to Los Angeles has crushed San Diego’s spirits.

Fans have been dumping their Chargers gear in front of team’s stadium in disgust, but now there are other signs of rebellion against the team’s move, after 55 yeas in San Diego. One of the things a team must do in order to move is, you know, actually move. The team’s has acres of weight-lifting equipment and tackling dummies, and the offices are filled with furniture, computers and posters of Manti Te’o’s college girlfriend.

The problem is, San Diego-based moving companies are refusing to help.

Ryan Charles, who runs sales and marketing for www.HireAHelper.com and is a lifelong Chargers fan, addressed this in an interview with local news in San Diego. “We were just sitting there thinking about the physical move of the Chargers,” Charles said. “We were thinking we would not want to be a part of that, having been born and raised here and being a lifelong Chargers fan.”

Charles decided to reach out to the other movers in his network to see if they felt the same way, and the response was a resounding yes. “The feedback was immediately positive,” said Charles. “I got chuckles, people were laughing, there were guys saying ‘I wouldn’t move them for X amount of dollars.'”

Charles started the website WeWontMoveYouChargers.com. As of right now there are 24 moving companies in San Diego refusing to help the team move.

There are also several companies in L.A. refusing to help.

Unfortunately for the movement, there are more than 24 moving companies in San Diego. I’m betting that with an estimated $100,000 payday in the offing, at least one of those companies can find a way to get over their bitterness toward the team.
