Piano Guys Musician Jon Schmidt Seeking Information on Missing Daughter
Musician Jon Schmidt of the wildly popular Piano Guys has appealed to the public to help find his daughter Annie who has gone missing in northern Oregon.
Annie Schmidt, 21, was last seen in Sunday and is thought to have gone on a hiking trip. Her car and phone was found earlier this week in the Columbia River Gorge near the Bonneville Dam and police fear that she may have gotten lost or injured while hiking.
Her father has posted a message on Facebook on behalf of The Piano Guys requesting any clues as to her whereabouts and issuing an appeal to hikers in the vicinity to get in touch if they think they may have seen her.
Schmidt is 5’4″ and weighs 125 pounds. She has brown hair and brown eyes. She was last seen wearing a gray or green beanie.
Jon Schmidt is a pianist and songwriter in the Utah-based Piano Guys whose videos have been viewed more than a billion times on YouTube. After signing with Sony, the group achieved four number one classical musical albums.
He has asked that people share pictures of his daughter saying, “The more people that we get looking at her picture that were hiking here on Sunday, the better our chance of sending the dogs in the right direction. It’s literally a 50-mile area and it’s like a needle in a haystack.”
Annie’s mother Michelle Schmidt told Fox 13: “I have to face the reality she may not still be alive.” She added: “We’re not sure what happened to her but we think that she’s either injured or lost.” But police at this time do not suspect foul play.
Anyone who may have seen Annie Schmidt is asked to call Portland Police with information at (503) 823-0000.
