Man Accidentally Admits to Sex Assault During Police Job Interview, Faces Charges

A West Virginia man is being charged with second-degree sexual assault after he admitted to it while applying for a probationary police officer job.

Tyler Ray Price, 21, was being interviewed for the job on February 8 when he told Sergeant A.R. Gordon that he had sex with a woman after a night of drinking. Price also admitted to filming the event. It is unclear why exactly he disclosed all of this during the interview, but his admission has now led to his arrest.

On February 23, police spoke to the woman Price said he had sex with. They asked if she had given consent to Price, but she said she had not. She also said she had no knowledge of the event or of the video that Price recorded until he called her on February 8, after his interview. She also told police that she had a lot of alcohol that night, confirming that part of Price’s story.

Price is being held on $25,500 bond at the South Central Regional Jail in Charleston, West Virginia.
