A Florida man was arrested today after stealing the identity of Nickleback’s drummer to buy $25,000 in music-related equipment, according to TCPalm.

Lee Howard Koenig, 45, allegedly contacted an Austrian music equipment company via email and told them he was Daniel Adair from Nickleback and attempted to order drum parts and microphones.

But when the Austrian company contacted the real Daniel Adair to confirm the order, the jig was up. Not exactly the crime of the century. Adair did some online research and was able to find the Koenig’s band’s Facebook page. He brought this information to the police and an arrest was made.

Now Koenig is facing two felony-fraud related counts.

According to police, Koenig wants to send Adair an apology letter.
