An Arizona family was shocked to discover a man having sex with their goat this weekend outside their home in the town of Wenden, about 100 miles west of Phoenix, according to law enforcement officials.
The La Paz County sheriff’s office says the incident occurred early Saturday morning, when family members stepped outside their home and saw a man who has since been identified as Roberto Lajpop-Mateo engaged in full on sexual intercourse with their goat.
Deputies were called to the scene, but the offender managed to abscond before they arrived on the scene. The authorities managed to track down Lajpop-Mateo a day later, and arrested him on charges of trespassing and bestiality.
There’s no word on how the family or pet goat are dealing with the ordeal.
Sex between men and goats has been recorded for thousands of years, going back to Ancient Greece. More recently, scholars and journalists have identified the northern coast of Columbia as a hotbed of man-goat coitus. Due to religious prohibitions on premarital sex with women, young men’s first sexual experiences are often zoophilic.
As for the Arizona case, Lajpop-Mateo offender is set to appear in court next Monday.
