ESPN has hired Abby Wambach, the U.S. women’s soccer star and LGBT activist who recently pled guilty to driving under the influence, just two weeks after cutting ties with former MLB star Curt Schilling.
ESPN fired Schilling last month after he expressed some controversial views on Facebook. Outraged critics accused Schilling of transphobic bigotry for posting a meme mocking the opposition to the so-called bathroom law in North Carolina, which requires individuals to use public restrooms that correspond to the gender on their birth certificates.

Not only was Schilling fired, the network removed all traces of his epic “bloody sock” performance during the 2004 American League championship from a recent “30 for 30” documentary on the series between the Schilling’s Boston Red Sox and the New York Yankees. Schilling was not happy.
Wow, full one year complete fabrication to defame greatest QB, now omitting about 4 hours of a game I think I played in. Hmm #integritymuch?

Wambach led the U.S. women’s national team to a World Cup victory in 2016. She holds the all-time record for goals scored in international competition.
