Balance has been temporarily restored to Manhattan’s posh Upper East Side neighborhood.
Police finally arrested the Hilda Barrion — known as “The Spitting Lady of 77th Street” — who became a neighborhood menace for allegedly spitting on children and spewing obscenities. Apparently attacking Manhattan’s families is big business — Barrion was found with $19,133 cash.
Barrion’s partner in crime, her nephew Gabriel Uno, was also arrested. Police also found her in possession of a spaghetti strainer and sewing needles.
Residents long complained about Barrion’s terrorism for years. Frustrated by the lack of action by the city, locals started a petition and Facebook group demanding action.
“She deserves it,” said Margie Kaiser, a manicurist who works in the area. “She spits on everybody. She doesn’t have good aim but she spits.”
