Brock Turner, the Stanford swimming star whose six-month sentence for rape has been heavily criticized as insufficient for the crime, will actually only serve half that amount of time, according to the latest court documents from Santa Clara County.

Turner, 20, faced 14 years for raping an unconscious 22-year-old outside one of the college’s fraternities. He blamed the rape on excessive alcohol consumption.
Judge Aaron Persky said that a longer sentence “would have a severe impact” on Turner, and gave him six months. He has since received death threats, and multiple petitions have been launched to oust him.
According to court documents, Turner will serve three months, even though the sentence was for six: He was booked into jail on June 2 and will be released September 2.
The backlash on Twitter was swift:

The court system is so messed up, if Brock turner wasn't rich(high class) and wasn't white he would've been sentenced to life
