Omarosa Manigault, or simply Omarosa as she is known, has been named Trump’s new Director of African-American Outreach. To most in the reality TV fan base, the unfiltered, hotheaded star is a household name. After appearing on “The Apprentice” and the show’s spinoff series “The Celebrity Apprentice,” both of which starred business mogul Donald Trump, Omarosa continued to frequent the TV world. She has appeared on a range of reality programs and is a regular CNN political commentator. Currently, Omarosa teaches at Howard University School of Business and is estimated to hold a net worth of $1.5 million.
Aside from her career highlights, here are five things you should know about Omarosa.
- She’s was a registered democrat. On May 13th of this year, Omarosa registered as a Republican. Prior to that, the Ohio native was always officially tied to the Democratic party. Perhaps the reality star sensed a Trump allegiance in her near future and made the switch.
- She boasts an illustrious beauty pageant history. Omarosa holds four pageant titles to her name: Miss Buckeye, Miss Youngstown (she was the first black woman to win the title), Miss Central State University (where she attended college), and Miss District of Columbia. She used her successes to pay for her collegiate education. The TV star has always had a talent for showcasing her beauty, as seen in this promotional video for Pantene’s Reality Hair Star competition.
- She can get personal with the insults. On a Fox Business “Mornings with Maria” segment covering Donald Trump, Omarosa attempted to defend the GOP nominee, but ended up throwing some serious shade at her fellow commenters. In addition to bluntly correcting a mispronunciation of her name, the reality star was quick to point out Fox contributor Tamara Holder’s “big boobs.”
- She hasn’t always seen eye to eye with Trump. After the Ferguson riots in 2014, Donald Trump took to Twitter to publicly attack Obama’s supposed negligence. The Republican nominee tweeted: “President Obama has absolutely no control (or respect) over the African-American community – they have fared so poorly under his presidency.” Omarosa staunchly disagreed with her former boss’ ill-placed blame, responding: “With tensions high in our community we don’t need more divisiveness! And the Obama bashing is getting a bit redundant.” She even went so far as to publicly voice her support for Obama and the Democratic party. Guess that was before Trump was offering her a personal spot on his campaign platform.
- She’s fearless (kinda)! Omarosa’s reality show credits include an appearance on NBC’s thrill-seeking “Fear Factor.” She proved to be somewhat of an adventurous type and came in fourth. Enjoy this video of what appears to be Omarosa plowing through a cage of worms!
