A video has been making the rounds on the web where a guy is watching TV and sees the same congresswoman on both MSNBC’s Hardball and CNN’s OutFront at the same time. Both networks claim to be live at the time (7:07pm EST on Wednesday), with a “live” tag clearly shown at the bottom right of the screen.
So how could Rep. Jackie Speier (D-Calif.) appear live on two networks at the same time? Is she magic or is one of them lying?
Well, turns out CNN is lying.
If you go to Rep. Speier’s Twitter account she tweeted out two pictures of her filming the different segments. The tweet showing her filming for OutFront is time-stamped at 6:25 p.m. EST.

But the Hardball tweet is timestamped 7:08 p.m. EST, the time the segment actually aired live.

CNN’s Outfront has not returned a request for comment.
