Disney released the new Star Wars trailer and the buzz on social media looks like the perfect ingredients for an internet outrage story! This time with the spin off series, Rogue One: A Star Wars Story (hopefully a working title), starring yet another female lead.
Another female lead, you say?
Cue the turds on YouTube:

Then you add the inevitable Twitter reaction:
Rogue One looks goooood. Though I did make the mistake of looking at YouTube comments and seeing all the "WAH A FEMALE LEAD!" crybabies.

Wow, the comments on youtube/twitter on #RogueOne having 'yet another female lead' are just a delight. pic.twitter.com/USyqzWKeN0

And just a bit of online trolling:
Another female lead in Star Wars Rogue One wow this is why we need Meninism

With a man desperately trying to impress the ladies with his feminism:
The only reason I'm interested in Rogue One is because it has a female lead and I think we need more of that in action/scifi/fantasy films.

And just a pinch of pseudo-intellectual sexism:
Rogue One trailer: another pseudofeminist invulnerable John Cena-like female protagonist archetype.

And voilà, the perfect outrage story is born.

Mmmmm, just like the social media-based non-stories my mom used to make.
