(AFP Relax News) – Snoop Dogg is set to launch a web series titled “Planet Snoop,” which will see the rapper narrating animal clips in the style of BBC nature documentaries such as “Planet Earth,” according to Rolling Stone.
The videos, which will be streamed via his cannabis and culture platform Merry Jane, were inspired by a handful of segments Snoop filmed for “Jimmy Kimmel Live” titled “Plizzanet Earth”.
The clips proved so successful that they kick-started a petition on Change.org to “Get Snoop Dogg to Narrate Whole Season of Planet Earth,” which garnered 75,000 signatures and led to the eventual creation of the “Planet Snoop” series.
The first installment of “Planet Snoop” — “Squirrel vs. Snake” — centers on a battle of wits between the two animals, with the rapper providing an amusing take on the encounter via regular ringside commentary.
