Report: ‘Transparent’ Crew Can’t Deal With Trans Bathroom Policy

Amazon’s hit show Transparent has been widely praised for putting the spotlight on the sensitive matter of transgender life, and promoting tolerance.

But reports today suggest the show is struggling to practice what it preaches.

TMZ reports that members of the crew on the film set are unhappy over a trans-friendly policy dictating that different genders should share bathrooms.

The gossip site says female staff are particularly perturbed by sharing bathrooms with men.

But they are not prepared to complain over the arrangements for fear of being labelled “transphobic”.

The on-set squabble has echoes of a broader debate over transgender bathroom use.

A controversial law in North Carolina has seen a series of reprisals, from companies like PayPal to musicians like Ringo Starr and Bruce Springsteen.

Gov Pat McCrory suggested amendments to mollify opponents, but has still been harshly criticized.
