Some would say President Obama has much to learn about leadership from “Game of Thrones” – and the creators of the hit HBO fantasy show have revealed the POTUS requested early episode of the sixth season.

The President is a huge fan of the series, and managed to bypass HBO’s total blackout of advance screeners of the episodes to avoid spoilers and leaks in ahead of the show’s premiere on April 24 to find out whether principal character Jon Snow is dead or alive.

Co-creator and showrunner David Benioff said at the show’s premiere: “When the commander in chief says, ‘I want to see advanced episodes’—what are ya gonna do?”

The show’s other showrunner, Dan Weiss, said: “I think for both of us- finding out the President wanted advance copies of the episodes—that was an ‘Aha!’ moment.”

President Obama referenced “Game of Thrones” at the 2015 White House Correspondent’s Dinner when he referenced Hillary Clinton’s fundraising efforts by saying: “Khaleesi is coming to Westeros.”

But asked by GQ which character in the show he most identifies with, the President seemed to throw his fan status into question: “My favorite character is probably…the dwarf, what’s his name?

[Tyrion Lannister played by Peter Dinklage]…the problem with Game of Thrones, though, is that I don’t remember the names of any of the characters.”

President Obama added: “The only one I remember is Jon Snow, because I can pronounce Jon Snow.”

He’ll soon have plenty more time on his hands to remember all the characters.
