It was night honoring Bill Murray, but Miley Cyrus stole most of the attention when she forgot her lyrics and told the crowd she was “too stoned”.
During the ceremony, where the 66-year-old actor was receiving the 19th Annual Mark Twain Prize for American Humor, Cyrus performed a rendition of My Way.
And it got off to a bumpy start as the singer stumbled over lyrics and the music drowned her out. At one point, she told the audience, “I f*cked it up,” before explaining, “Sorry guys, I got too stoned”.
But Bill wasn’t fussed and reportedly cheered on as he jumped out of his seat. Apparently he even had the band prepare for round two later in the night — and Miley performed the tune again without a hitch.
