Despite rumors that French actress Marion Cotillard is the cause of the Brangelina split, it turns out the real culprit might be Mary Jane.

According to TMZ’s sources, Angelina Jolie is “fed up” with Pitt’s weed and booze consumption, which could have a negative effect on the children.

Sources close to Pitt have told TMZ those allegations are “a malicious lie” and Pitt is “a loving and devoted father who has never and would never put his children in any dangerous situation”.

It’s no secret that Pitt is a fan of marijuana. He and several others have spoken about it publicly in the past.

In 2009 Quentin Tarantino told talk show host Jimmy Kimmel that the actor offered him some marijuana during a private meeting to discuss Pitt potentially starring inInglorious Basterds.

“We’re poppin’ rosé and he’s got this really cool Pink Floyd kind of rosé,” the director said about the meeting at Pitt’s mansion in France.

“We’re knocking it back, and then a smoking apparatus of some sort found its way on the table. It was like a soda pop can, red with a little silver stripe.”

A few months later Pitt was being interviewed on Real Time With Bill Maher when the host raised the actor’s fondness for cannabis.

“I certainly had my day, now it just kind of turns me into a doughnut,” Pitt said.

Maher then recalled: “I remember being at a New Year’s Eve party with you many years ago. You just all night rolled these perfect joints. The most perfect joint I’ve ever seen, like a machine, like a cigarette. It was better than a cigarette.”

The audience burst into laughter when Pitt responded, “I’m an artist”.

In an interview with Parade in 2011, Pitt opened up about smoking marijuana during his marriage to Jennifer Aniston.

“I spent the ‘90s trying to hide out, trying to duck the full celebrity cacophony,” he said.

“I started to get sick of myself sitting on a couch, holding a joint, hiding out. It started feeling pathetic. It became very clear to me that I was intent on trying to find a movie about an interesting life, but I wasn’t living an interesting life myself.

“I think that my marriage [to actress Jennifer Aniston] had something to do with it. Trying to pretend the marriage was something that it wasn’t.”
