As part of a cross-promotion between Lyft and the new Ghostbusters movie, you can get bussed around select cities in the Ecto-1 this Independence Day weekend. But, not the real Ecto-1 — only the vastly inferior reboot Feig-mobile.

You see, the original Ecto-1 from Ghostbusters (1984) was a technological masterpiece, while the new Ecto-1 (2016) has Paul Feig’s grubby ruinous paws all over it.

Hardcore Ghostheads on the internet were not happy about the reveal of the new Ecto-1.

Redditors on r/ghostbusters had choice words about the unveiling of the new reboot car.

“This ecto does nothing for me,” /u/thomashush said. “I think it looks horrible, and like a cheap knock off of the original. It looks like crap.”

“That f—ing light. It is the source of all my frustrations,” said /u/chubbsmagoo on the noticeably downgraded yellow light atop the new car.

Users on gbfans.com echoed the sentiments.

“The Feig-mobile looks like… pardon my French… poop. It is as if the Feig team scoured this board for all the pics of the fan-made Ectos we make fun of, and used them as a template,” kevinj319 said. “Big ugly light, the logo on the door is incorrect as the red ‘no’ symbol is too skinny, trim on the door interferes with the logo, roof rack and ‘equipment’ looks ugly… it’s just bad.”

So if you call a Lyft this weekend, get ready to be driven around in a hearse of disappointment and shattered childhoods.
