Kesha has been allowed to release a new song by the music producer she accuses of raping her.
She will launch a new track with electronic dance music DJ Zedd on Friday, the pair announced.
The release is a surprise because Dr Luke, Kesha’s producer until the rape claims emerged, has the legal power to stop her releasing music.
Kesha has complained before that Dr Luke and Sony were stopping her recording by enforcing a multi-album contract which she now wants to ditch.
The ongoing fight began when Kesha made sensational allegations in 2014 that Dr Luke – real name Lukasz Gottwald – had drugged and raped her repeatedly.
He denies any wrongdoing and says the two have never even had sex.
Earlier this month a judge in New York said he could not strike down her contract with Dr Luke and Sony – giving them a veto over any future releases.
But Dr Luke and Sony approved the Zedd release – as acknowledged by the pair in social media posts after the announcement:
Thanks for the clarification @Zedd …
