Episode 8, “No One,” of Game of Throne’s Sixth Season will air this Sunday at 9pm EST. HBO gave a brief synopsis of the episode.
While Jaime (Nikolaj Coster-Waldau) weighs his options, Cersei (Lena Headey) answers a request. Tyrion’s (Peter Dinklage) plans bear fruit. Arya (Maisie Williams) faces a new test.
Here are a few of our carefully pondered predictions for the upcoming episode:
1. Arya wasn’t stabbed last episode. It was Jaquen.
Not my prediction. Thank the dutiful diggers of the Reddit’s r/asoiaf. The theory goes that the Arya who got stabbed last week was actually Jaquen in disguise. It makes plenty of sense when you think about it.
Like where did Arya get the money to pay the ship captain? Wouldn’t they spend two seconds explaining that? Why is she making no attempt to lay low and conceal herself? Where is needle, her sword she recovered in the previous episode? And most compelling of all, there’s little way a kid that small could survive three deep stabs to the gut and then be able to swim out of a river.
It all makes sense when you think back to Season 2. Jaquen owed Arya three lives, but only took two. When he wouldn’t help Arya, Arya asked him to take his own life. Jaquen asked for mercy and helped her escape anyway to save his own skin.
So really, as far as the god of death is concerned, Jaquen still owed a life debt to Arya. What better way to pay it than to take the Waif’s shanking for her?
2. Ship Alert! Yara and Daenerys are totally going to hook up.
If Yara’s gratuitous whoring scene last episode proves anything, it’s that she will be Daenerys’ next lover. Daario’s old news, and his swashbuckling charm is fast fading. Daenerys needs a new flame in her life to symbolically begin her new chapter in Westeros.
Who better than Yara? They’re both badass, don’t-need-no-man, the-world-is-mine, type women. Daenerys already showed signs of attraction to women during that sensuous “sex training” scene with her handmaiden (whom she would later bury alive) in Season 1. And in the books, there was a full-on lesbian love scene with Daenerys on a boat.
3. Little lady Mormont will kill Ramsey.

Little lady Lyanna Mormont has quickly become a fan favorite and top contender for the Iron Throne. She’s got the iron-will of Stanis, the wits of Tyrion Lannister, and the Fook the King attitude of Sandor Clegane. So who better to take out Ramsey?
This theory comes mainly from David Lynch’s 1984 (mis)interpretation of Dune. Paul Atreides’ sister looks just like Lyanna Mormont, and she is the one to kill the evil Baron at the end of the film by pulling out his nipple plugs.
Unfortunately Ramsey has no nipple plugs to pull, and there won’t be a sand worm to eat him, but I’m sure little lady Mormont can think of something just as special.
4. Brienne’s going Frey hunting.
We already know Brienne’s gearing up for a confrontation with Jaime, probably just a war of words. You support these guys and I support these other guys, it was never meant to be. Boring.
The real fun part will come when Brienne figures out the same guy who slit Caitlyn Stark’s throat is chilling in a tent outside Riverrun. If she really wants to avenge her former liege, she really should start bashing Frey skulls.
5. Who is this new red priestess?

HBO released a still for Episode 8 featuring what appears to be another red priestess. Will she be a new significant character, or a one-off?
In the books, a red priest accompanies Victarion Greyjoy (Euron’s brother) on his quest to find Daenerys. Victarion was cut from the show, but it appears that Theon and Yara are replacing his adventure. So will this woman be their priest?
Victarion saves a red priest from drowning and the priest later heals his injured hand with the magic of the lord of light His hand becomes black and charcoaled but seemingly more powerful and divine. Victarion becomes an adherent of both the Drowned God and the Lord of Light, crossing rituals of the two religions on his path of destruction.
This new red priestess could be Theon and Yara’s priest who they would probably meet in Volantis. Just watch if either of them injures a hand as it will be a dead giveaway of the new character’s role.
