Here’s a new batch of predictions and leaks for the upcoming episode.

1. Leak: a missing Stark will make an appearance.

It’s been a long five years, but Benjen Stark, Ned’s brother, will finally be returning next episode. In season 1, Benjen went missing on patrol and was assumed dead. But a good rule for Game of Thrones is that when you don’t see a character gruesomely murdered on screen, they are probably still alive (hint: Sandor Clegane).

A leaker on Reddit, Truede, has proven his/her credentials by accurately spoiling the “hold the door” scene from the previous episode. According to Truede, Benjen will save Bran and Meera from the White Walkers, guides them to the wall, and then returns back into the wilderness.

What is not explained by the leaks is what Benjen has been doing for the past five seasons.

2. Prediction: Jon’s parentage will finally be revealed.

The actor who plays young Ned, Robert Aramayo, is confirmed to appear in the next episode according to IMDB.

This means that we may finally get to see the rest of the Tower of Joy flashback scene. In this scene, we will almost certainly see Lyanna Stark, Ned’s sister, giving birth to Jon. Lyanna was supposedly “kidnapped” and raped by Rhaegar Targaryen, Daenerys’ older brother, but in all probability they fell in love and eloped.

This means that Jon is a Stark-Targaryen hybrid, the child of ice and fire, totally the Prince that was Promised, and a likely incestuous ship with Danny! Excuse me while I cry…

Some people also believe that Jon is a twin with Meera Reed. Remember Meera’s father, Howland, was at the Tower of Joy and saved Ned from the Sword of the Morning with a timely stab in the neck.

The Meera theory is a little tinfoily, but the Jon one is essentially cannon at this point.

3. Prediction: An old foe will be back in the picture.

In HBO’s plot description of episode 6, they mention an old foe returning to the screen. Who will this be?

It almost certainly will be the Freys. While the Boltons have taken over as GoT’s premiere baddies, the Freys were the primary conspirators in the Red Wedding.

The Freys will likely send troops to aid the Boltons in securing the North. This is already the setup in the books, so it’s not a huge stretch to expect their appearance in the show.

Game of Thrones episode 6 will air this Sunday at 9pm EST.
