He was mocked mercilessly for announcing the wrong winner at the 2015 Miss Universe pageant.
Now Steve Harvey has weighed into last night’s Oscars bungle, which saw La La Land erroneously declared the winner of the night’s greatest prize, Best Picture, by veteran actors Warren Beatty and Faye Dunaway.
“Good morning everybody! Went to sleep early last night. So … what I miss? #Oscars,” Harvey joked on Twitter.
The TV host followed up with another tweet promising to discuss the Oscars snafu later on Monday.
Accounting firm Pricewaterhouse Cooper later took responsibility for last night’s embarrassing Oscars blunder, with Moonlight ultimately clinching the Best Picture award.
Harvey was dragged into the debacle when Oscars host Jimmy Kimmel went into damage control to salvage the show.
“This is very unfortunate what happened. Personally I blame Steve Harvey for this — I would like to see you get an Oscar anyway. Why can’t we just give a whole bunch of them,” Kimmel joked to a stunned audience.
It’s unlikely Harvey will ever live down his terrible mistake at the 2015 Miss Universe pageant which saw Miss Colombia, Ariadna Gutierrez, mistakenly crowned instead of Miss Philippines, Pia Alonzo Wurtzbach.
“Okay, folks,” Harvey said, after realizing his error. “I have to apologize.”
Gutierrez covered her mouth in shock when Harvey announced the correction, before she had to hand over the crown.
After the pageant snafu, Harvey tweeted, “I’d like to apologise wholeheartedly to Miss Colombia & Miss Philippines for my huge mistake. I feel terrible.”

He followed up by saying, “Secondly, I’d like to apologise to the viewers at that I disappointed as well. Again it was an honest mistake.”
Pageant organisers also issued a statement, apologising for the error.
Almost everyone weighed into the drama, including Donald Trump who tweeted: “Very sad what happened last night at the Miss Universe Pageant. I sold it 6 months ago for a record price. This would never have happened!”
Harvey is a beloved American comedian best known for hosting the game show Family Feud in the US.
