MSNBC celebrity Chris Hayes is being assailed on Twitter for his hot take on the recent spate of bombings in New York City.
We're also very very lucky that the attackers tried to use explosives rather than guns.

That’s a pretty hot take, and a lot of people thought so. It doesn’t make a whole lot of sense. Hayes could have written something sensible, such as: “We’re very very lucky that most of the explosives did not go off and no one was killed.” But he didn’t.
Would he, for example, have written such a hot take in the wake of the lethal Boston marathon bombings, in which similar explosive devices were used? Probably not. So what point is he trying to make, exactly?

.@chrislhayes Yes, you would think we would outlaw bombs or something. You should suggest it.

Some pointed out that one of the alleged attacks did use a gun, but managed to injure fewer people than the bomb did.
@chrislhayes He shot a cop this morning. One person. His bomb injured 29, and could have been a lot more deadly.
