The Brangelina break-up is getting messier by the moment.
Reports have surfaced that Brad Pitt was investigated by Los Angeles authorities over an incident with one of his children flying from France to L.A.
The Department of Children and Family Services in LA County is reportedly conducting an inquiry into allegations that the actor hit his kids and shouted at them. The DCFS won’t comment.
TMZ claims Pitt “got wasted” and “went wild, screaming and getting physical with the kids”, alleging his hysterical behavior continuing on the tarmac. According to People magazine, the incident took place on September 14.
Jolie has listed September 15 as the date of their separation and filed for divorce four days later. People adds the child abuse allegations have been referred to the FBI and Pitt is fully co-operating.
But the LAPD poured scorn on the reports with LAPD staff sergeant Barry Montgomery telling the New York Post the cops are involved. “It’s not true. There is no criminal investigation or an investigation of any kind against Brad Pitt,” said Sgt. Barry Montgomery.
In the divorce filing Jolie requested physical custody of their six children- Maddox Jolie-Pitt, 15, Pax Jolie-Pitt, 12, Zahara Jolie-Pitt, 11, Shiloh Jolie-Pitt, 10, and twins Knox Jolie-Pitt and Vivienne Jolie-Pitt, 8. She cited “irreconcilable differences” for the split.
Many have detected the influence of Laura Wasser, the renowned Hollywood divorce attorney retained by Angelina Jolie, on recent events. Wasser was retained by Johnny Depp in his divorce from Amber Heard which was also rocked by allegations of abuse.
Following years of dedicated UN service, Jolie Pitt was appointed a UN Special Envoy in 2012. So presumably she will distraught that the very public fall-out of Brangelina is serving as a major distraction from UN General Assembly Week currently going on in New York.
