The Beach Boys will headline the National Memorial Day Concert being held in Washington, D.C.
Producers have confirmed that the California-based surf-rock outfit will perform at the free annual concert, which is held on the west lawn of the United States Capitol Building on May 29, the Associated Press reports.
The concert, which honors America’s service members and veterans, will be hosted for the 11th consecutive year by actors Joe Mantegna and Gary Sinise, who are both longtime advocates for veterans’ issues.

In addition to the Good Vibrations singers, pop singer and actress Katharine McPhee, country singer Trace Adkins and soprano Renee Fleming will also entertain concert-goers, as will the National Symphony Orchestra.
Trent Harmon, the winner of the final season of Fox’s reality singing contest American Idol, will sing the U.S. national anthem. Formed in 1961, the current Beach Boys touring band are led by original members Mike Love and Bruce Johnston, with the full line up consisting of supporting musicians John Cowsill, Tim Bonhomme, Randell Kirsch, Scott Totten and Christian Love.
Over the years, the group had over eighty songs chart worldwide, thirty-six of them being U.S. Top 40 hits, and sold in excess of 100 million records worldwide. The concert will be broadcast live on PBS from 8pm on May 29.
