Second-string NFL quarterback Colin Kaepernick has been the subject of a lot of Internet outrage after he refused to stand for the national anthem in protest against the American flag, which he said stood for “a country that oppresses black people and people of color.”
Kaepernick, who is not very good at football, enraged critics further when he was spotted wearing socks emblazoned with cartoon pigs wearing police hats.
Things may get even more awkward for Kaepernick on Thursday when will reportedly start for the San Francisco 49ers in their preseason game versus the San Diego Chargers on “Salute to the Military Day.” (It is the final preseason game, meaning that most of the good players are sitting out.)
