Upcoming Cranston-Franco Movie ‘Why Him?’ Accused of Sexism Because of Male Emphasis

The family-at-loggerheads comedy is a staple cinematic holiday tradition with previous installments including Meet the Parents and Father of the Bride.

This year we have Why Him? which is about tattooed, sleazy tech billionaire Laird Mayhew, played by James Franco, who crosses swords with his future father-in-law Ned Fleming (Bryan Cranston).

It doesn’t come out for another three weeks, but that hasn’t stopped SJWs on social media bizarrely objecting in principle to a film that revolves around the relationship between two men and deciding from the trailer that fiancée Stephanie (Zoey Deutch) is marginalized in the movie.

The movie is co-produced by Ben Stiller, who along with Cranston and Franco, is a prominent Hollywood liberal.

The Cranston & Franco film “Why Him?” is outdated & sexist & looks just awful.

#WhyHim? Trailer looks sexist. I thought in 2016 we would be further along than a father vs son in law movie. Daughter’s not even important.

Trailer for, “Why Him?” masterpiece of sexist Hollywood writing. Note how women have ZERO agency in their lives.https://t.co/gPRt91kRG6

Speaking of sexist ass comedies: that stupid “why him” film with Bryan Cranston and Franco the elder

Saw a trailer for a movie w/ Bryan Cranston & James Franco in it called Why Him but they should have just called it “White People Problems”

Then there’s that problematic ‘mansplaining’ title…

Setting aside presence of James Franco, shout out to everybody feeling mildly triggered simply by the title of the film WHY HIM? right now.
