The social justice world was rocked this week with the announcement that Ghostbusters, the high-profile summer blockbuster starring only women, wouldn’t get a sequel (and would likely lose more than $70 million).
Some Internet social justice warriors expressed complete disbelief that their Holy Grail of feminist movies had failed in its quest to win over American audiences.
It seems as though some want to label #Ghostbusters a huge failure no matter what is actually happening. https://t.co/rwb1fBDWZE

Some were defiant.
im not believing anyone until sony themselves says they're not doing a ghostbusters sequel. only their word matters

Some were simply heartbroken.
Always upsetting to live in a world where female Ghostbusters didn't make enough money for a sequel but Bad Santa did.

But thankfully, social media raced to their rescue. To heal the wounds left by Ghostbusters, Twitter suggested other movies feminists could remake to suit their social justice needs.
Unfortunately for the social justice warriors, they weren’t exactly flattering.

Feminists were as receptive to the hashtag as could be expected.
Some of the tweets under #FeministAMovie r disgusting & reinforce the fact that #feminism is needed; we have so far to go. But we will win.
