‘Thelma & Louise’ Writer Says Feminist Movie Duo Would Have ‘Blown Trump Train to Hell’

Susan Sarandon isn’t a fan of Hillary Clinton. But Callie Khouri, who wrote Thelma & Louise, which supplied Sarandon and Geena Davis with their finest cinematic hours, is.

She went ballistic this week when conservative pundit and former Libertarian Vice Presidential nominee Wayne Allyn Root spoke at a rally for Donald Trump in Las Vegas and had the audacity to cite Thelma & Louise.

Root referenced the climax of the Ridley Scott movie when he imagined a fictional scenario in which Hillary Clinton and her senior aide Huma Abedin drove for the Mexican border.

“It’s Hillary in a White Ford Bronco. She’s got Huma driving and they’re headed for the Mexican border. I have a name for the future TV movie. It’s called Driving Miss Hillary. And the ending, if we all get our wish, the ending is like Thelma & Louise.”

Khouri’s response to this made Thelma and Louise seem like girl scouts:

Okay, asshole. Where to start? You don’t get to use T&L without knowing that they would have blown that Trump train straight to hell. https://t.co/DFVuR1TCuS

2)if it ends like T&L Hillary and Huma will live on as beacons of empowerment and will inspire more to fight sexist assholes like Trump. https://t.co/DFVuR1TCuS

3) you never saw the movie or you’d know NO FIERY CAR CRASH. And as for prying this country from your cold dead fingers, have it your way https://t.co/ipnKblbQgB

Root might have more luck pitching his TV movie idea to Sarandon…
