Subreddits have a tendency, almost always, to develop a hive mind. Nowhere is this truer than r/ghostbusters. These longtime Ghostheads are adamant in their distaste for the Paul Feig’s new reboot, and for good reason.
It is a unique scene among subreddits to see almost half the posts with negative points. While ecto coolers and retro memorabilia get upvoted to the top, pretty much any news portraying the reboot in a positive light gets showered in downvotes.

And the subreddit, like the film’s YouTube comment section, suffers from its own troll problem. People entering the sub and interrupting the hate fest with articles aggressive toward the fandom.
Users like ur_a_idiet, KatieRuthie19 and drdr10 are waging a subtle war on the Ghostheads, taking repeated jabs at their love of the original and hatred of the reboot.
Lady Slimer is here to shit all over your precious ‘Ghostbusters’ memories. from ghostbusters

The ongoing ghostwar probably won’t end until the first wave of reviews either confirm or deny the suckiness of the reboot, but it is certainly fun to read all the productive debate going on.

It seems the troll aren’t Sony shills but committed social justice warriors keen on fighting the culture wars over Ghostbusters. Unfortunately for those of us who love internet drama, this flamewar is about to come to an end.
