Rapper Troy Ave was invited to speak at New York’s Columbia Teachers College by Professor Christopher Emdin who will also name the rapper as the national spokesperson for his HipHopEducation Program.

Troy is on bail in connection with a deadly Manhattan night club shooting in May which left his bodyguard dead and three others, including Troy, wounded. Surveillance video shows him firing off shots while fleeing the club. The rapper has been charged with attempted murder and weapons possession and if convicted could end up in prison for decades.
Wow, he sounds like a real great role model for the kids of New York. Maybe next time Columbia can get Bernie Madoff to give inspiration to finance students.
