Pro-Trump Protesters Clash With Anarchists in California

Things got ugly on Huntington Beach, California’s beautiful coastline this weekend.

Police arrested several people at a pro-Trump rally at Bolsa Chica State Beach on Saturday after violence broke out between supporters of the president and counter-protesters.  Over 1,000 people attended the “Make America Great Again” march.

Tensions escalated between the groups when ten, mostly masked, individuals created a human wall to try and stop the march. According to a Trump supporter in attendance, a masked thug pepper sprayed a woman and then ran away.

(Pepper spray appears to be the weapon of choice by masked communists these days. An elderly man was pepper sprayed in the face at a pro-Trump rally in Berkeley, California earlier in the month.)

On Huntington Beach, one man got hold of an assailant after he allegedly pepper sprayed his wife.

“I hit him five times with the flag over his head,” said Travis Geunther.

Jordan Hoiberg, a protest organizer and member of the Socialist Party USA, said the use of pepper spray was an act of self defense, but a Los Angeles Times report disputes Hoiberg’s claim and says the man acted first.

“I’m not just here in support of Trump, but our vets, military, police officers and emergency responders,” said Darlene Savord, an organizer of the event.

Social media users documented some of the confrontations resulting in some good fight porn for those of us sitting at home alone on a Saturday:

Pro-Trump organizers held events in around 40 different areas on Saturday.
