Popular YouTube Comic Calls Anti-Trump Protesters Hypocrites, Gets Blowback

Note: This article and headline originally called JonTron a conservative, this is not the case and the article and headline were changed to reflect that.

Many critics have suggested that the anti-Trump protests aren’t exactly helping the left’s argument that the country has become less democratic since Trump’s election. One of those voices is a YouTuber by the name of Jon Jafari, host of the JonTronShow, with over 1.45 million followers on Twitter and almost 3 million YouTube subscribers.

Here is what Jafari had to say:

“This mass protest of a fair and democratic election is making us look even better than we already did!”, he said while avoiding all mirrors

Can you imagine how these same people would react if Trump supporters staged some sort of insurrection like this?

— Jon Jafari (@JonTronShow) November 13, 2016

Jafari also went off on the fact that many on the left have doubled down on their cries of racism and homophobia.

You’re right guys, it wasn’t that your strategy of calling everyone a homophobe/racist was wrong, you need to DOUBLE DOWN NOW!!

Some people on the left didn’t like what Jafari had to say. Nick Monroe, a video game writer, collected all of the negative responses in one image, which can be seen here:

… And THIS is a collection of the negative responses that @JonTronShow got. (Took a while to put this together) https://t.co/oGi51XKnw7 pic.twitter.com/XBZ4OyDXjN

Among some of the worst were a comment about how Jafari should be aborted.

Now guys, calm down. I think we can all agree that @JonTronShow is a deformed baby that deserves to be aborted.

And a reminder to die

@JonTronShow reminder to die

As well as some other general tweets about how people had lost respect for Jafari.

@JonTronShow I appreciate the work that goes into your videos, but, man, this is not cool. I’m losing a lot of respect for you.

Jafari did receive support from his right-leaning followers, however, and it seems like the majority of his followers agreed with what he said or at least appreciated him speaking up about something he believes in.

@LTB0NES_ haha, welcome to 2016. If telling the truth means losing followers, then I don’t want to be popular
