A leader of the alt right and avowed white supremacist made headlines after he was punched in the face by an Antifa protester at Trump’s inauguration. Spencer’s teary- eyed reaction to the sucker punch has made him the subject of much mockery online.
Now Spencer looks to redeem himself in the ring, by boxing tech bro/angel investor/Engadget founder Jason Calacanis.
The fight was arranged by the Trump supporting e-celeb Mike Cernovich, who responded to one of Calacanis’ tweets where he was talking tough about fighting Nazis.
@DavidGMcAfee I 100% non-violent, but Nazis we fight.

Hi @jason. I would be pleased to sponsor a boxing match or MMA fight featuring you v @RichardBSpencer. Proceeds for charity of your choice. https://t.co/ZJc0Ymh9RB

I will destroy that Nazi scum in the octagon with pleasure. Bring me @RichardBSpencer & I will re-educate him wit delight. https://t.co/xWE5fHZwaA

Spencer then popped in to agree to the fight, but only if it included a one-hour debate beforehand.
Challenge accepted…on one condition: we have a one-hour debate that coincides with the boxing match.

@Jason DM me.

So now the fight is tentatively scheduled for Independence Day in Vegas, and hopefully betting will start soon. Of course they would have to get a boxing permit and rent the event space, but Calacanis has the millions to do it.
It’s a pretty tough call on who would win. Based on a quick Google image search of Calacanis, he looks pretty doughy, but so does Spencer.
If I had to put money down, it would be 2:1 odds that they both leave the match in blubbering tears.
